Dr. Amin Daway Thamir, the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology held the symposium and the celebration entitled: "PhD study in the Department of Chemical Engineering thirty years of superiority" on Thursday 26/10/2017 at Dar Al-Salaam Hall and in the presence of the head of Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Ali Al-Rubeai and the Assistant General Manager of Midland Refineries Company; Dr. Ayed Jaber Omran with the presence of other professors and academic staff from Department and University. The head of Chemical Engineering Department; Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Ali Al-Rubeai gave a speech on the occasion, in which he presented a set of programs for postgraduate studies, which include higher diploma, master and doctorate. The PhD programs aim to provide the Iraq needs of human cadres to these specialized technological degrees in scientific research and development along with leading research teams working in various fields and also deepening the links between the industry and the university by means of addressing the industrial problems through the development of chemical engineering sciences so as to ensure that the pace of global progress in this field is maintained. The symposium included the opening of scientific lectures and the awarding of certificates to the lecturers.

Dr. Amin Daway Thamir, the Department of Chemical Engineering in cooperation with the USA Embassy held inside the University of Technology a workshop entitled "Workshop on IYLEP" on 24/10/2017 at Dar Al- Salaam Hall in the presence of the head of Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Ali Al-Rubeai and the Director of the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the University of Technology Dr. Ammar Al-Hassani with attending a number of professors and students of the second and third stage from our department. This program includes the exchange of young Iraqi leaders.
Symposium on invention and innovation and their role in building the national economy
Written by lumaUnder the auspices of Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir the president of the University of Technology, The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology held a seminar in cooperation with the Iraqi Inventors Forum under the title (invention and innovation and their role in building the national economy) on 21 November 2017 at Dar AL- Salaam Hall and in the attendance of the president of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir and the head of Chemical Engineering Department Assist Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Al-Rubeai and also attended a group of professors and employees from our department and the university. The symposium included the opening of scientific lectures and the awarding of certificates to lecturers and members of the preparatory committee
Scientific visit for the Department of Chemical Engineering to AL-Mustaqbal College

Based on the memorandum of understanding between the University of Technology / Department of Chemical Engineering and AL-Mustaqbal University College, a scientific visit was made to AL-Mustaqbal College In Babylon on Saturday, 2/12/2017 headed by the head of Chemical Engineering Department Assist Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Al-Rubeai and in attendance of the Assistant Head of Department for Administrative Affairs Dr. Wallaa Abdel Al-Hady Al-Najjar and head of the chemical engineering and oil refining branch; Asst. Prof. Dr. Talib Mohammed Nayef and Prof. Dr. Qusay Fadel Abdul-Hamid. The objectives of the visit were to activate the terms of understanding signed between the two parties, which including the conduct of joint research between the two parties in addition to the implementation of the Conference of Engineering Education and in cooperation with the Iraqi Engineers Union and the Committee of Deans of Engineering Colleges in Iraq. |

In the presence of the head of chemical engineering department; Prof. Dr. Thamer Jassim Mohammed and the faculty members, Chemical Engineering Department hosted a workshop on Thursday 01/12/2016 in order to register of faculty members on the websites of Google scholar and ORCID. The lecture was given by the Asst. Lect. Safa Amen. The purpose of the registration of faculty members on the above mentioned signatories is to publish their research and their scientific achievements consistent with the recommendations by the office of the assistant of the University's president for scientific affairs; M.M.A / 810 dated 27/11/2016.
