The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University / Technology held electronic seminars (seminars) for graduate / doctoral and master’s students on Wednesday 8/26/2020 to discuss their research and in the presence of the supervising professors for their research. Each student has been allocated 20 minutes for the presentation, 10 minutes for discussion) and they are each student Dr. Omar Sabah, title of his research: An arithmetic and experimental study of heat transfer and dynamics of the two-particle mixture in the three-phase fluidized bed reactor, and PhD student Mortada Sabah, title of his research: A study of converting waste into fuel: an applied example of converting plastic waste into fuel, and a master’s student, Sarah Mazhar, her research title: Preparation and Diagnosis Eco-friendly composite membranes for use in the separation processes. The seminar was held on the FCC platform.

The lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Thamer Jassim Muhammad, participated in chairing the oral defense of the doctoral thesis submitted by the student Havan Hassan Salman, tagged (sustainable desalination methodology as well as generating electrical energy in salt water in the wetlands of Dalmaj)

In the Environmental Engineering Department / University of Baghdad, which was held on Wednesday 8/12/2020 in the presence of the members’ committee:

  1. Dr. Thamer Jassim Mohammed as Chairman
  2. Dr.Khaled Morshed is a member
  3. Dr. Amal Hamzah as a member

  5. Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jassim, member
  6. Dr. Zainab Ziad Musharraf

The student discusses this topic to develop new sustainable techniques to preserve natural water tables from excess salts, including fresh water for wetlands as it is a highly productive environment that supports the development of aquatic organisms.

Lecturer, Miss Safa Amin Ahmed, from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology, conducted a workshop entitled (Student Guide to Interact with Google Classroom) in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education, University of Technology. This workshop was held on April 18, 2020, through a zoom program.

Within the university activities, Hussein Hafez Tabak, student of the third year of the Chemical Engineering and Oil Refining Branch, was participated in an online course that given by the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences MBRU in the United Arab Emirates on how to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to control it. At the end of the course, the student received a certificate and was awarded the title (MBRU Ambassador for Communication).
