Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, the Chemical Engineering and Oil Pollution Branch in the Chemical Engineering Department held a scientific workshop on water security...and its role in achieving peace and development in Iraq. The symposium included a scientific lecture by Professor Dr. Mufid Saadi Abdel Ghafour from the Central Technical University, during which he gave a detailed presentation on the nature of the water reality in Iraq, the most prominent factors affecting it and its relationship to climate change, water scarcity, the phenomenon of drought and high temperatures. In addition to the high salinity. He also touched on the need to find appropriate solutions to confront water scarcity by adopting an effective strategy to negotiate with neighboring countries to conclude agreements that work to protect and use cross-border water and enhance regional cooperation for sustainable water management to reduce the problem of water scarcity. At the conclusion of the workshop, a certificate of appreciation was given to the lecturer in appreciation of his efforts in delivering the lecture.
