Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir, the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology held a symposium entitled "Nanotechnology Applications in the field of Environmental Protection" on 12/12/2017 at Dar Al-Salaam Hall inside our Department, which attended by the university president deputy for administrative affairs Prof. Dr. Sami Abu Al-Nun Ajeel on behalf of the President of the University and the Head of Chemical Engineering Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Ali Al-Rubeai with a group of professors and employees from the Department and the University. The Head of the Chemical Engineering Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Ali Al-Rubeai was delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he expressed the importance of environmental treatment and disposal using modern technologies to preserve the environment. The symposium also included the opening of scientific lectures and awarding of certificates to the lecturers and members of the supervisory and preparatory committees.

 

 

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir the president of the University of Technology, The Department of Chemical Engineering in cooperation with the Chemical and Biological Control Division in the University of Technology held a workshop on "Strengthening Safety and Security in Chemical and Biological Laboratories" on 22/2/2018 at Dar AL-Salaam Hall. The head of Chemical Engineering Department Assist Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Al-Rubeai and a number of professors and employees from our department and the university were attended the workshop. The symposium included the opening of scientific lectures and the awarding of certificates to lecturers and members of the preparatory committee

 

A scientific team from the Department of Chemical Engineering visited on Wednesday 1/11/2017 the Midland Refineries Company, which headed by the Head of Chemical Engineering Department; Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Ali Al-Rubeai and scientific adjutant; Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sookar with both the head of chemical engineering and oil refining branch; Asst. Prof. Dr. Talib Mohammed Nayef and the head of chemical process engineering branch; Asst. Prof. Dr. Riad Sadik along with a group of professors from the department. Mr. Zaid Kazim, General Manager of the MRC and Mr. Saeed Abu Jaber Omran, Assistant Director of the MRC, welcomed the attendees. During the meeting, they discussed the activation of the memorandum of understanding between the Department of Chemical Engineering / University of Technology and the Midland Refineries Company / Ministry of Oil, which is represented by scientific cooperation between the two parties.  

Within the scientific and cultural activities of the first semester of the Department of Chemical Engineering for the academic year 2017-2018, the MSc student (Inas Mahmoud) was given a lecture on Thursday 2-11-2017 entitled: "The effect of micro and nano particles on critical heat flux enhancement" inside Al Khwarizmi Hall in the presence of the Head of Chemical Engineering Department; Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Manee Ali Al-Rubeai, the assistants to the Head of Department and the heads of the scientific branches as well as a number of academic staff from the Department.
