Under the activities of the scientific and cultural activity of the first semester of the Department of Chemical Engineering for the academic year 2019-2020, the Department of Chemical Engineering, in cooperation with the Office of Scientific Assistant (Division of Control of the circulation of chemicals and dangerous biological and toxic) held a second training workshop centered around organizing the management, chemical inventory, and moving the chemical materialsin the stores belonging to the scientific departments and research centers at Dar Al-Salam Hall on Monday, 16/16/2019, the workshop was attended by the head of the department Dr. Khaled Ajmi Sukkar and Scientific Associate Adnan Abdul Jabbar, Chairman of the Committee on the circulation of chemicals in the department Dr. Manal and employees of the department and the university. The lecture was given by a senior engineer, Eveline Ayoub Daoud. The workshop included two sections: First classification of chemicals and identification of dangerous materials and a general explanation of the program of the system. The second section was based around the practical application on the use of the program. The workshop was attended by secretaries of chemical stores in the departments and centers of the university.

 

 

 

Under the activities of the Department of Chemical Engineering for the first semester of the academic year 2019/2020 and under the sponsorship and presence of the President of the University of Technology (Prof. Dr. Imad Hussein Marzah Husseini), the Department of Engineering held a religious lecture titled (the human and intellectual dimension of the renaissance of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)) in Dar Al-Salam Hall on Tuesday, September, 17, 2019.

Recently, Dr. May Ali Alsaffar has published her research in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy titled " Recent advances in renewable hydrogen production by thermo-catalytic conversion of biomass-derived glycerol: Overview of prospects and challenges ".

 

 

 

The research team consists of Dr.Khalid AjmiSukkar  (chairman of the chemical engineering department), Dr. Abdul Hassan Abdul Karam (Mechanical engineering department), and Eng. DhuAlfaqar Nasir (chemical engineering) all of which received a patent from Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control for their invention. It is important to mention this wasthe first time in whichthe technology for producing the invented material was used. This material can be used for different industrial petroleum applications and also for water treatment.
