         Thanks to God and with the encouragement of the Presidency of the University of Technology and on the occasion of preparation for the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students from the branch of chemical engineering and oil pollution, the green technology team was created in the chemical engineering department. This team is concerned with the application of green engineering in the preparation of chemical designs and processes to preserve the environment and spread environmental culture in the community and interest in clean renewable energies.

             The alumni Follow-up Unit in the Department of Chemical Engineering / University of Technology held a training course on (Health, Safety and Environment) at Dar Al- Salaam Hall on Wednesday 22/5/2019. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Haidar Jawad Kazem from the Middle Refineries Company. This course was attended by a group of graduates from the Chemical Engineering Department. At the end of the course they were given certificates of participation.

              Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir, the Department of Chemical Engineering held a workshop entitled "Energy sustainability and management in chemical engineering" on Thursday 16/5/2019 at Dar Al-Salaam Hall. The seminar was attended by the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar, deputies of the head of the department and heads of branches in addition to the faculty members and employees of the department and the university. The workshop was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdul-Jabbar and coordinator of the workshop Lect. Dr. Abbas Jawad Sultan. The scientific lectures were delivered by Mr. Salam Al-Rubaie / Director of Relations and media at the Ministry of Electricity and his lecture entitled (Rationalization of electricity consumption), Lect. Dr. Haidar Al-Rubaie / University of Technology- Chemical Engineering Department and his lecture entitled (Biomass production technology as an energy source) and Lect. Dr. Laith Sabry Salem University of Technology- Chemical Engineering Department and his lecture entitled (Use algae as an energy source). The aim of the workshop is to educate and raise awareness about the rationalization of electricity consumption within the national strategy to support electricity and identify the most important alternative energies. At the end of the workshop, certificates were awarded to the lecturers and the preparatory committee.    

 

         Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir, the Department of Chemical Engineering held a scientific symposium entitled "Applications of Nanotechnology in Oil Refineries and Gas Treatment Processes" on Sunday 19/5/2019 at Dar Al-Salaam Hall. The seminar was attended by the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar, deputies of the head of the department and heads of branches in addition to the faculty members and employees of the department and the university. The head of the department delivered a speech in which he said that the scientific and academic successes achieved by the department are the result of the diligent and good efforts exerted by the faculty members of the educational, technical and administrative staff. The department has sought to communicate with the field of work in the industrial and oil sectors. The seminar aims at preparing engineers who are familiar with the basic scientific and engineering expertise and knowledge in the field of chemical engineering as well as preparing graduates able to operate and manage laboratories and factories related to chemical engineering disciplines. The symposium was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Zaidoun Mohsen Shakour and coordinator of the symposium Lect. Dr. Haidar Abdul-Ali Abdul-Kareem. The scientific lectures were delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Talib Mohammed Nayef / University of Technology and Asst. Prof. Dr. Basma Abbas Hussein / University of Baghdad. At the end of the symposium, certificates were awarded to the lecturers and the preparatory committee.
