The faculty members of the Department of Chemical Engineering elect two candidates for the membership of the Engineering Consulting Office at the University of Technology

This meeting took place in the hall of Dar Al-Salaam on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Dr.KhalidAjmi Sukkar started his talk by introducing congratulations to the faculty members for the beginning of the new academic year and wishing them continued success on the scientific and practical level
In this meeting, three candidates were elected to the Engineering Consulting Office as follows:

During this meeting, the students were welcomed and wishedan academic year full of success and excellence. It is worth mentioning that the Department of Chemical Engineering has prepared a wide scientific program in scientific disciplines that serve the needs of Iraq in the chemical and oil industries through graduate researches.

This workshop was held at the hall of Dar Al-Salam on Sunday, September 15, 2019, and it was attended byChairman of the Chemical Engineering Department Dr.KhalidAjmi Sukkar and his assistants and heads of branches and a group of faculty members. The lecture was delivered by the Director of Quality Assurance, University Performance Dr. MahaAbdulkarim Mahmoud, and the Director of Quality in the chemical engineering department Dr. May Ali Alsaffar.
Department of Chemical Engineering holds a second training workshop on chemical management and inventory system (CIMS)
Written by عضو ارتباطUnder the activities of the scientific and cultural activity of the first semester of the Department of Chemical Engineering for the academic year 2019-2020, the Department of Chemical Engineering, in cooperation with the Office of Scientific Assistant (Division of Control of the circulation of chemicals and dangerous biological and toxic) held a second training workshop centered around organizing the management, chemical inventory, and moving the chemical materialsin the stores belonging to the scientific departments and research centers at Dar Al-Salam Hall on Monday, 16/16/2019, the workshop was attended by the head of the department Dr. Khaled Ajmi Sukkar and Scientific Associate Adnan Abdul Jabbar, Chairman of the Committee on the circulation of chemicals in the department Dr. Manal and employees of the department and the university. The lecture was given by a senior engineer, Eveline Ayoub Daoud. The workshop included two sections: First classification of chemicals and identification of dangerous materials and a general explanation of the program of the system. The second section was based around the practical application on the use of the program. The workshop was attended by secretaries of chemical stores in the departments and centers of the university.

A research team of the University of Technology, Iraq received a patent titled "Production of multilayers nano carbon tubes from diesel fuel"

DhuAlfaqar Nasir (chemical engineering) all of which received a patent from Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control for their invention. It is important to mention this wasthe first time in whichthe technology for producing the invented material was used. This material can be used for different industrial petroleum applications and also for water treatment.

This workshop was held at the Oil Cultural Center on September 23, 2019, and Dr. Adnan A. Abdul Razak, Dr. Zaidoon Muhsan Shakoor, Dr. Farah Talib Jasim, and Dr. Shurooq Talib Remedhan. Our delegation of faculty members for this workshop has contributed to the discussion ofthe development of the work of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control.

Written by عضو ارتباطThe Department of Chemical Engineering held a course on (Methods of maintenance of oil pumps) in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education / University of Technology on Sunday, 21/7/2019 and on Dar Al Salam Hall. The lecture was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Riyad Sadiq, where the course dealt with modern scientific concepts in the field of pumping and receiving oil and petroleum products and the most important types of pumps used in the oil sector and the processes of maintenance and evaluate its performance.

Prof. Dr. Riyadh Sadiq al-Mukhtar, head of the Chemical Processing Engineering Branch, participated in the meeting held at the Ministry of Health and Environment on Monday 22-7-2019 on the implementation of the inventory of mercury emissions in Iraq to pave the way for Iraq's accession to the United Nations Minamata Convention to ban the use of mercury. Note that Dr. Riad Sadiq is a member of the ministerial committee representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research formed for this purpose

More than 17 trainees attended the course. Whereas the lecture was delivered by the head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar, who explained that the aim of the course is to increase awareness in the field of safety in oil installations and sites and prepare a cadre familiar with the experiences and create a plan to preserve the oil sites.
