Written by lumaUnder the auspices of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Emad Hussein Mirza Al-Husseini, a ceremony was held on the university theater to honor the departments and centers winning the profusion and the quality of the international publication sober as part of the initiative to publish 250 scientific researches in the Clarivate containers of international journals. The Department of Chemical Engineering had a wide involvement in publishing in which the professors participated. The department has won the second place in the number of published papers. Head of the chemical engineering department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar, received the initiative shield. The President of the University has confirmed the launch of an initiative to publish 500 scientific papers for the next year, wishing all researchers and faculty members continued progress and success in the service of our beloved university. Congratulations to all faculty and staff members of the Department of Chemical Engineering.
The Ministerial Committee of the Engineering Accreditation Council reviews the readiness forms for ABET requirements
Written by lumaA ministerial team from the Engineering Accreditation Council visited the departments of the University of Technology on Tuesday 2/7/2019 in the Department of Electrical Engineering in the presence of the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department and the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department. The readiness forms were reviewed and audited in the presence of the heads of the three branches in the department and the director and members of the Division of Quality and Academic Accreditation. All thanks and gratitude to the members of the Ministerial Committee and to the Director of Quality Department Dr. Maha Al-Rawi and all the faculty members in the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering.

Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar, deputies of the head of the department and heads of Branches in addition to the faculty members. On this occasion she was honored with the Department Shield by the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar and the scientific deputy of the head of department Asst. Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdul Jabbar. It is worth mentioning that the Department of Chemical Engineering has prepared a large scientific program in scientific disciplines that serve the needs of Iraq in the chemical and oil industries for postgraduate studies.
Chemical Engineering Department completes the preparation of scientific laboratories
Written by lumaThe Chemical Engineering Department has developed an extensive program in order to arrange the required laboratory supplies in preparation for the next academic year 2019-2010 through the provision of equipment and chemicals and maintenance of equipment in preparation for receiving students, especially the students of the first stage to apply the courses system for the new academic year. It is worth mentioning that the educational programs in the department include more than fourteen scientific laboratories equipped with the latest equipment and advanced scientific technology.

Written by lumaWithin the preparations of the Department of Chemical Engineering to receive students for the new academic year, the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering; Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar held an extensive meeting with the experimental laboratory staff and in the presence of Scientific Deputy and the heads of branches on Sunday, 1-9-1919 to discuss the completion and preparation of laboratory experiments to achieve laboratory quality according to the requirements of the good laboratory practice (GLP) for the academic year 2019-2020. It is worth mentioning that the experimental laboratory is the most important laboratories in the Department of Chemical Engineering, which is predominantly industrial and productive that is important in enriching the educational process.
Chemical Engineering Department holds a training course on the economic feasibility calculations for oil projects
Written by lumaChemical Engineering Department held a course on (economic feasibility calculations for oil projects) in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education / University of Technology, on Sunday, 21/7/2019 and at Dar Al-Salam Hall. The lecture was delivered by the Head of Chemical Engineering Department; Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar. Engineers from the Ministry of Oil / South Refineries Company participated in the training program. The training program dealt with the most modern methods of conducting economic feasibility calculations for the implementation of oil and gas projects.
Green Technology Team
Written by lumaThanks to God and with the encouragement of the Presidency of the University of Technology and on the occasion of preparation for the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students from the branch of chemical engineering and oil pollution, the green technology team was created in the chemical engineering department. This team is concerned with the application of green engineering in the preparation of chemical designs and processes to preserve the environment and spread environmental culture in the community and interest in clean renewable energies.

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Haidar Jawad Kazem from the Middle Refineries Company. This course was attended by a group of graduates from the Chemical Engineering Department. At the end of the course they were given certificates of participation.

The seminar was attended by the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar, deputies of the head of the department and heads of branches in addition to the faculty members and employees of the department and the university. The workshop was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdul-Jabbar and coordinator of the workshop Lect. Dr. Abbas Jawad Sultan. The scientific lectures were delivered by Mr. Salam Al-Rubaie / Director of Relations and media at the Ministry of Electricity and his lecture entitled (Rationalization of electricity consumption), Lect. Dr. Haidar Al-Rubaie / University of Technology- Chemical Engineering Department and his lecture entitled (Biomass production technology as an energy source) and Lect. Dr. Laith Sabry Salem University of Technology- Chemical Engineering Department and his lecture entitled (Use algae as an energy source). The aim of the workshop is to educate and raise awareness about the rationalization of electricity consumption within the national strategy to support electricity and identify the most important alternative energies. At the end of the workshop, certificates were awarded to the lecturers and the preparatory committee.

The seminar was attended by the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar, deputies of the head of the department and heads of branches in addition to the faculty members and employees of the department and the university. The head of the department delivered a speech in which he said that the scientific and academic successes achieved by the department are the result of the diligent and good efforts exerted by the faculty members of the educational, technical and administrative staff. The department has sought to communicate with the field of work in the industrial and oil sectors. The seminar aims at preparing engineers who are familiar with the basic scientific and engineering expertise and knowledge in the field of chemical engineering as well as preparing graduates able to operate and manage laboratories and factories related to chemical engineering disciplines. The symposium was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Zaidoun Mohsen Shakour and coordinator of the symposium Lect. Dr. Haidar Abdul-Ali Abdul-Kareem. The scientific lectures were delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Talib Mohammed Nayef / University of Technology and Asst. Prof. Dr. Basma Abbas Hussein / University of Baghdad. At the end of the symposium, certificates were awarded to the lecturers and the preparatory committee.

At the end of the training course, certificates of participation were distributed to the attendees wishing them continued creativity and success throughout their future lives.
