Starting from the principle of cooperation and deepening the academic work between the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Center for Continuing Education / University of Technology, a course entitled "Hysis Program" was organized by members of the faculty in the Department of Chemical Engineering, namely: Assist. Prof. Dr. Zainab Yousif, Lect. Bashar Jawad and Lect. Iyad Dari for the period 17-20 / 3/2019 on the Center for Continuing Education, where a group of employees of government institutions and departments was present.

In accordance with the directives of the Presidency of the University of Technology in activating the scientific visits of the students of the Department in order to activate awareness and education in the field of rationalization and energy sustainability, the Summer Training Unit organized a practical scientific visit on Tuesday 26/3/2019 to the headquarters of the Baghdad Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainability in Baghdad International Fair in Al-Mansour area for students of the third class / evening study of both branches, Oil & Gas Refining engineering and Chemical Processing engineering, under the supervision of the faculty members and engineers, namely: Assist. Prof. Dr. Khaled Hamed, Assist. Prof. Dr. Bushra Abdullah, Lect. Lama Hussein and Senior chief Eng. Osama Hussein. On the sidelines of the visit, the Director of the Center at the Baghdad Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainability, Mr. Mohammed Shaker, welcomed the teachers and the students who were present in the center's hall where the director of the center toured the center's sections with the delegation. The delegation was briefed on the sections of the center and the purpose of its establishing. As well as the existing systems in the center, which rely entirely on renewable energy, the most prominent of which is a solar powered air conditioner and models and applications through the presentation of comprehensive video on the city of sustainable, the main objective of the scientific visit was to link the theoretical study with the practical application and to clarify some practical applications of chemical engineering in the field of environmental pollution treatments through solid waste recycling processes, applications of green chemistry, bio-fuel manufacturing, diesel fuel from organic waste, as well as an explanation of solar cells.
In accordance with the directives of the Presidency of the University of Technology in activating the scientific and applied visits to the students, the Summer Training Unit organized a scientific visit to the students of the third class / second meal of the branch of Chemical Processing engineering on Monday, 18/3/2019 to the headquarters of the Midland Refineries Company at the headquarters in the Duora area under the supervision of the faculty members, namely: Assist. Prof. Dr. Khaled Hamed, Assist. Prof. Dr. Bashir Yousif, Lect. Dr. Leith Salem, Assist. Lect. Mariem Yousif and Assist. Lect. Iman Hashim. One of the most important objectives of the scientific visit is to link theoretical study with practical application and to clarify some practical applications of chemical engineering in the field of petroleum industries.

Oral exam for doctoral students in the Department of Chemical Engineering was held on Thursday 31/1/2019 by the Chairman and members of the committee charged with conducting the comprehensive examination in the department. The head of the department Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajami Sukkar was briefed on the progress of the examination process for students. It is worth mentioning that the study plan for the doctoral study in the department has allocated three seats annually to the general acceptance to be submitted according to the regulations adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Technology.
