The Department of Chemical Engineering organizes an educational and cultural workshop on psychological fitness
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghaban, the Department of Chemical Engineering held an educational and cultural workshop entitled (Psychological Fitness and Life Skills) on Wednesday, 10/9/2024.
The lecture was given by Dr. Walid Abdel Moneim from the College of Open Education. During it, he presented a detailed presentation on the concept of psychological fitness and indicators of psychological balance among individuals, as it is a basic factor in human life that requires the individual to enjoy various personal abilities, energies and qualities that help him face challenges, and to produce, innovate and succeed, to contribute in his role as a good citizen in society. In addition to being a basic pillar in confronting anxiety and stress, which is the first enemy of psychological and mental stability, which requires avoiding it before it occurs and knowing how to get rid of it if it occurs. In addition to the necessity and importance of achieving mental and psychological balance among individuals.
In this regard, the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, stressed that the importance of this lecture lies in promoting a culture of psychological fitness among students as they are the youth of the future and the builders of the nation. The lecturer also explained that psychological fitness is one of the main factors that affect our quality of life, as it indicates a person's ability to deal with life pressures and adapt to daily challenges in a healthy and effective manner in order to maintain good health, which requires a person to take care of his psychological fitness on an ongoing basis by following a set of tips and guidelines that help enhance psychological fitness and maintain mental health. At the end of the lecture, a certificate of appreciation was granted by the Department Head to the lecturer in appreciation of his efforts in giving the lecture.
